The Voyage

I made this painting on a small island off the coast of Maine. It was an old ship called “The Nona”, which had been sitting in the shipyard so long that it had become a fixture there. I learned from the local children that it’s owner had big plans to refurbish it, but everyone knew it would never happen. I imagined it sailing over the scraps of lumber.
