I love working with amateur models because their modes of expression are vastly different from those of professional or polished models. The pros work hard to be what they think I want them to be. Amateurs can only be themselves. My goal is usually to capture the face in between the face they use when they are alone and the face they show to the world.

In this photograph we can see Hanna at a crossroads. Is she going to be the victim or the perpetrator?
