Geranos

Geranos is an ancient dance performed in Greece and Delos, known as the Crane Dance. Theseus is said to have performed this dance upon arrival at Delos from Crete. This is the fourth painting in an unexpected series of bird paintings completed in 2021. The narrative develops and evolves over time. At this point I feel it is a response to the pandemic, feeling oddly out of place in familiar surroundings. As with every painting, mystery is at the core. a truth that remains elusive. The viewer is expected to step in and participate in the creation of the story.
