Summer Sea after Joan Eardley

A transcription of Joan Eardley's work by the same name, this painting depicts those blue skies of summer. I built up the texture with layers and scraped them back using a palette knife a la Eardley. The tide is high and there are breaking waves--white horses. A minimalist white wood frame completes the look.
