While living in Utah, I experienced long, cold, gray winters. While beautiful in their own way, I found myself each year longing for colorful spring and summer to give life back to the world. Every March, tulips were the first flowers to bloom, announcing the arrival of warmer weather and a full array of rainbow blooms. It was an absolute joy to immortalize this particular tulip, which always reminds me that spring always comes again.

This larger than life tulip is a celebration of the beautiful textures, pinks, and liveliness of the flower. The thick paint application adds a dimension of interest, leading the eye around the petals and leaves. It draws you in fully, so you never want to look away.
