Karen Remsen is a Chicago-based artist creating paintings with oil and precious metals such as gold and platinum leaf. Karen is a self-taught artist who rediscovered painting in 2020 after a hiatus of nearly 15 years. Agreed that the process of creation brings the biggest joy to the artist rather than the finished product. I think I'd rather have my pieces out in the world even if they survive only a generation or two rather than keep them to myself.
